Black-type Back On Cue for Alluvion (TBV)
Sep 27, 2016
Trainer Scott Singleton will tackle black-type once more with Onemorenomore filly Alluvion following her last-start victory at Hawkesbury.
Alluvion raced on the pace and then dropped her rivals to win the Tuncurry Bowling Club Hcp (1000m) by more than four lengths in class-record time on Thursday. She was backed into a $2.80 favourite after a fourth-placed finish in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes at Randwick last month.
“She can gallop and has a bright future,” Singleton said. “I didn’t plan to throw her in the deep end for the Silver Shadow but it’s a bit tricky at this time of year.
“You have to weigh up whether it’s easier to take on older horses in restricted company or race against their own age group in something richer.”
Alluvion is bred to keep improving as she gets over more ground. Onemorenomore won the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick and her USA bred dam Accretion (Cozzene) won up to 1700m and also earned black-type in the Listed Miss Grillo Stakes in New York.
Singleton races her with long-time client David Lopez after buying Accretion during the Patinack Farm dispersal at the 2012 Inglis Summer Sale.
There were 7 Onemorenomore winners around Australia in 5 days last week and his Brisbane sprinter Bentles will start first-up in Sydney on Wednesday in the Teachers Health Fund Hcp (1500m) at Rosehill.
