Colic claims Dr Doute's (TBV)

Jan 12, 2016

Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria was saddened to hear of the recent death of Ridgeview Park sire Dr Doute’s.

He died suddenly following a colic attack on New Year’s Day.

Studmaster Phil Sloane has thanked the Victorian Equine Vet Clinic for doing everything they could to save the 10 year-old son of Redoute’s Choice.

The sire retired to the Muskerry East nursery in 2011 and his oldest progeny are three year-olds.

Dr Doute’s was an outstanding juvenile for part-owner and trainer Mark Kavanagh.

He was unbeaten as a two year-old at Morphettville (1000m) and Moonee Valley (1200m) and returned the following season to capture the G3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington and LR City of Adelaide Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville.

TBV sends it condolences to Phil and Fiona Sloane and the whole team at Ridgeview Park.
