Bianconi Riding A Winning Wave (TBV)

Aug 04, 2015

Ridegeview Park resident Bianconi (USA) sired 8 winners during July and that final flourish took his overall figures for the season to 60 winners of 84 races and $1.73 million in prizemoney.

His Bendigo based three year-old Lazyaxl (pictured) led the charge winning the Telstra Phonewords Hcp (1200m) at Moonee Valley on July 15. “He relished the conditions and powered away,” trainer Shaun Dwyer said after the three length victory. “He was big and gangly as a younger horse and I think he will eventually get out to a mile.” Lazyaxl (3g Bianconi – Gypsy Battalia by Agincourt) is a homebred for Max Graham, Trevor Nuthall and Jim Miller. They raced his dam to 8 victories in Victoria and NSW including the Greater Dandenong Cup at Sandown plus Cowra and Gundagai Cups.

“Of those 8 winners in July, 5 were three year-olds and they won from 900m to 1400m,” Ridegeview’s Fiona Sloane said. “They’re mainly sprinting types and they’re winning week in, week out.”

Kingsgrove was his 60th and final winner of the season when scoring on debut at Murray Bridge last Wednesday. He is part-owned and trained by Brian Mueller and won’t be long coming to town.

Our Bottino is another Bianconi set for city racing. He won a Geelong maiden on July 24 for trainer Matt Williams and then opened his sire’s account for the new season with a 7 length victory at Horsham on Sunday.
