Bianconi Always In Form (Breednet)
Jun 13, 2015
One of Victoria's most reliable stallions, Bianconi has been in good form and Ridgeview Park Stud is delighted with the way in which the regally bred Danzig stallion has settled in since arriving at Muskerry East property last year.
Hadda Couple is one of several Bianconi's showing promise of late, the Jeremy Kenny trained three-year-old a tough winner after racing wide at Donald in mid-May - taking that form to Morphettville and recording a double.
Settling mid-field for Shayne Cahill, the bay hooked out into the middle of the track turning and after hitting the lead with 100m to go was able to draw clear.
That's two wins and five placings from just nine starts for Hadda Couple, a horse who has shown versatility racing well over sprinting trips and excelling up over the mile.
Looking a big chance to record a hat-trick when he ventures to Flemington on Saturday to contest the Ken Cox Handicap, Hadda Couple is described by Sloane as "a typical Bianconi "as honest as they come."
Meanwhile in Hong Kong David Hall has a smart Bianconi four-year-old in the shape of Penang Hall who, at just his second start at Sha Tin in mid-May claimed the Carnation Handicap in exciting fashion.
Saluting by two lengths in smart time, Penang Hall had been green at his first start but has quickly put everything together - "he got it all wrong the first time but he got it all right today," Hall said.
Another lightly raced well regarded Bianconi is Yalu who found the line well to win first up at Kilmore a few weeks ago - the four-year-old improving at her first outing for the Michael Kent stable.
"She was strong to the line," Kent said, noting that he was confident of a bold showing after the mare's good work in the lead-up.
"She is a mare with good potential and I would be very surprised if she doesn't work her way through the classes."
Chilliconi, Tempt Me, Conidel, La Cavalier, Cannes Coni, Biankath, Symphony In Time and Been Scene are other recent winners for Bianconi, a stallion who has maintained a high winners-to-runners strike rate throughout his career with 533 of his sons and daughters being winners.
